March Favorites! 2014

Image
So it's that time of the month again where I share a few of my favorite things! I tried to film a video but apparently I'm an idiot and nothing turned out right lol so for now it's just a regular bog post! First off my hair is/was PURPLE! Yes, I have always wanted my hair to be a vibrant color and this go around I went rather bold and had the lower half of my hair "ombre" or what ever you want to call it. It started out purple but has faded to a magenta color which I don't mind. I would however like to have it a deep purple but I'm not sure that possible. I have also found an awesome mascara, it's the Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express. It has a nice gel formula that goes on really nicely and doesn't clump. I've had a hard time finding a good mascara but this one seams to be pretty darn good. It's light weight, good pigment (I have it in Blackest Black K900) It has a nice brush with varying lengths of bristles that helps me ...

They say it's your birthday! It's My birthday too!

Hey there! It feels like it's been forever since I made a blog post. I've been quite busy with work and now Spring Break and you know, things. Anyway on with the blogging! March 16th marked my 28th birthday. It feels like the past 10 years have just flew by but somehow I don't feel any older then I always did. What has changed is how people treat me. I'm no longer the youngest one in a group or the odd one out when going to functions with my Mother for her work. Its getting ever more difficult to tell the age of people younger then I. What gets me the most is the memories I can share with people. I've done relatively minor things but I've now I've got something to say and an articulated opinion to express and other people actually take my at my word. I feel pretty good about my self for the most part. So onward and upward! As the years go by it seams like the older we get the longer we drag out our birthdays. This year I decided that I would have an en...

It's Paranormal!

Image
This is going to be a ramble kind of blog post. So....here we go! Picture take by me 1-14 Since I was very little I have been fascinated with the Paranormal. Due in large part to my Father. He was a sci-fi guy and loved to watch all of those kinds of shows from Star Trek to Star Wars and The X Files. I loved going to visit him on the weekends and watch the Sci-Fi and History channel. As a teen I loved The Secret World of Alex Mac, reading and watching Goosebumps, reading Scary Stories in the 3rd grade was one of the best parts of class. As a young adult it just spread from TV shows to movies to books and so on. My love of the macabre just went from there. Creepy things and grave yards, even finding dead animals out in the desert was fascinating to me. I embraced the odd and enjoyed it. Through my late teens and early twenties I went through a time, like most people that age I suppose, where I was finding out who I was and I have to say the Paranormal has played a huge part in...

Wow its just about the end of February! Spring is right around the corner and so is my Birthday! Just a couple more weeks and I will be 28. Yikes! lol I don't worry to much about getting older though I am now at that age where I can say "when I was a kid". I've got actual stories to tell, not good ones mind you but still stories! Anyway on with the faves! Music Lets start with the new Katy Perry album Prism. Oh wow is it good! I have been listening to it non stop after her performance at the Grammy's I was hooked. Dark Horse, Legendary Lovers and Walking on Air are real standout for me. But really the entire things is wonderful! Okay I have to talk about 2 Cellos . I can't even express how much I loves these guys! A Pagan page I follow on Facebook posted a link to them playing Thunderstruck and I was blown away! I spent the next hour on their YouTube page rocking out. They are so talented and make any song that much more beautiful! Go have a listen for...

So it's been a couple of weeks since my last  blog post and the reason for that is I got a severe sinus infection with led to a sever tooth infections. I was all infected! After three different rounds of antibiotics I am finally on the mend. I have learned a few things from this experience, first was how to sleep sitting up, second was how to eat without using my teeth and third was no matter how afraid of the dentist you are GO! No matter how well you brush and floss you still need twice yearly checkups! I was well enough to attend a local "black tie" fundraiser. I've gone the past three years and it's always fun. This year though I got to really play with my makeup, I felt like a proper lady in my dress, nude open toe stilettos and false lashes. As vain as that sounds I really felt nice. The copious amount of wine I had helped also. The food was great! I had some things I've never tried like oysters and lamb. Other then that I've been brain...

These are a few of my Favorite things! Jan'14

Okie dokie then! I love watching monthly "Favorite" videos on YouTube and reading them on blogs so I thought why not start off the new year with some of my faves! I hope to keep this a monthly thing and will include beauty, fashion, TV, movies, music and other random tid bits! Enjoy! My Monthly Favorites for January 2014 Lets start off with some Beauty things. I admit I am new to the game from "professional" makeup and so some of these things many, many of you already know about but to me they are new an exciting! Real Techniques brushes by Sam Chapman. Okay so I am in love with these brushes! They are so soft and so easy for beginners like myself to use. I bought mine from my local Super Wal-Mart. I got a set of eye brushes and then one powder brush. I have used them all and cleaned them once and I have to say they are worth it. Next I have some skin care faves. I have had a horrible time with acne since I was 13. I have tried just abut everythin...

Dark Horse

So as you may or may not know the Grammy Awards was on TV Sunday the 26th of January. I DVR'ed it and kinda skipped through a bunch of it. The live music was wonderful and I was pleasantly surprised by the winners. Anyway here's what caught my eye at this years Grammy s. I am so in love with P!nk, she is amazing and brilliant. He high flying act was classic P!nk and her duet with Nate from F.U.N was vocally stunning. Her red carpet dress was very mature yet bold and her stage clothes were fierce. From that lace body suit to the velvet skirt and platform stilettos. So in awe by this woman. I would love to see her perform live one day. So good. Katy Perry was also wonderful that night. I am loving this darker side of her. She performed one of her new songs called Dark Horse and it had a whole witchy/magical theme about it. The theatrics that night were very "Witch". From a crystal ball, to brooms, a ring of fire and a celestial black horse. Her red carpet dress was ...
