Top Five Favorite Movies.....right now.

This post is inspired by a video JamesChats did on YouTube. Something y'all should know about me..... I LOVE MOVIES <3 Everything about movies, I love them. Going to the theater is one of my favorite things to do, I get so engrossed when watching, it's like having an out of body experience. I feel everything when watching movies, I guess that's why I like horror movies the least. Some scary movies like, The Conjuring or My Bloody Valentine are good but for the most part I don't watch horror movies :-) Anyway on with blog post! It's a difficult thing to pick my all time, can not live with out, take on a deserted island, movies list as I enjoy way to many of them to just choose a hand full. Really. My DVD collection is like the $5 bin at Wal-Mart only more organized. So this Top Five are of movies I watch on a regular basis and ones I'll watch on TV even if there is only 10 minutes left. Practical Magic This movie is amazing. There humor, ro

A dip in the Pool.

So....I'm fat.  That is my identifier; if you asked someone what I looked like they would say, tall, brown hair, blue eyes, and fat. I have always been fatter then most and for a long time I was not okay with it. It's only with in the past few years that I have really accepted that I'm always going to be fat and I'm fucking awesome regardless of what my clothing sizes are. There is a whole 'fat acceptance' movement afoot and it's really helped me see that fat does not equal worthless. So with my new found self worth I took my fat awesome body swimming. You read that right swimming, in a (semi) public pool. Wearing a red sports bra and cut off purple sweat pants. It was a last minute wardrobe choice as I have not worn a swimsuit in years (I don't even own one any more) and didn't have time to find a bad ass fatkini. I was a bit worried someone was going to say something against what I was wearing and talked my self out of going several time but

Twister!

Image
ABC Family has mini movie marathons during the summer and this year they showed Twister, the classic 1996 action movie. I set my DVR and this afternoon I sat down to watch it. Click here and have a gander at that cast! What? Yes! Arguably the greatest movie of all time.  It's been well over 5 years since I have last seen this movie, but, from the opening credits I knew every word and what parts they cut out to make it fit its allotted time slot. I was 10 when this movie came out. I still remember our local theater turned this hallway into a "tornado alley" with flashing lights and plastic cows hanging from the wall. I loved this movie. Any time it was on TV I would watch it. I would even borrow the VHS tape from a family friend of ours and watch it. It's so freaking good. Now, watching this movie an an adult I can tell you there are so many things I never had reference about when I was a kid. One line that really made me laugh is in the beginning

GUINEA PIGS!!

Image
I <3 Guinea Pigs. Tis a statement of truth. My very first pet was an Abyssinian/American mix named Teddy. I don't remember where he came from but my mom got him for me when I was in the second grade. He was loud and fun and I learned a lot about caring for an animal. So I guess you could say my animal obsession started with Guinea Pigs. From here on out in this post I will be calling them Cavy's which is a 'show' term and also the 'technical' term for them. So when I was 10 I joined 4-H with the intent of showing and raising Cavy's. I learned a lot in the first few years I was in 4-H and a lot of it was the hard way. People lie, cheat and steal in the name of sportsmanship but it never took away my enjoyment of being around all of the animals. Being around people yes but never the animals. I started out with Abyssinian but then over time had every variety of short coated Cavy's, I even had one long hair and even hairless!. I showed, won, los

July Favorites 2014

Wooo! It's August and that means that Autumn is on it's way! I have a healthy respect for Summer but I am in love with Winter so I can not wait. I had a hard time coming up with a list of faves. My May faves were kinda lame so I thought really, really hard about what things I could not live with out the past thirty some odd days and this was what I got. 1. Beyonce: The Visual album.      I admit I'm late to the Beyonce train but whoa am I glad I hoped abroad! I love every song on this album and the videos that go with them are stunning. So good, in fact it makes me want to go get all of her other albums or better yet a greatest hits. Do they still do greatest hits albums? 2. e.l.f Brown felt eyeliner.     It goes on like a marker, cost $2, and last all day long. Plus it makes the blue in my eyes pop. What's not to love? I've worn it almost every day and I'm gonna have to go buy another and maybe pick up the black as well. That's it. En

It's Rodeo Time!

Image
*Before you read this blog post please know there are pictures attached. While I enjoy the sport of rodeo I know there are people out there who do not; so if you are the latter please close out this tab and come back next week.* There are several rodeos around these parts all year long. This year my Mother, my nieces, nephew, his friend and I went to the County Rodeo. It's very small and a little bit hokey but all good fun. It started of with the Country Cuties (I think that was what they were called) A female troupe who did a little bit of trick riding and carried all of the flags. There was a flag for every branch of the military, an American flag and a few others. The national anthem was sang and I proudly sang along. There was saddle bronc riding, break away roping, team roping, barrel racing bull riding and even a clown. It was hot as balls, so much so my legs got sun burnt. Pretty weather, pretty animals and pretty cowboy butts. All in all a pretty good Sunday afte
