It's Paranormal!

This is going to be a ramble kind of blog post. So....here we go!
Picture take by me 1-14

Since I was very little I have been fascinated with the Paranormal. Due in large part to my Father. He was a sci-fi guy and loved to watch all of those kinds of shows from Star Trek to Star Wars and The X Files. I loved going to visit him on the weekends and watch the Sci-Fi and History channel.

As a teen I loved The Secret World of Alex Mac, reading and watching Goosebumps, reading Scary Stories in the 3rd grade was one of the best parts of class. As a young adult it just spread from TV shows to movies to books and so on. My love of the macabre just went from there. Creepy things and grave yards, even finding dead animals out in the desert was fascinating to me. I embraced the odd and enjoyed it.

Through my late teens and early twenties I went through a time, like most people that age I suppose, where I was finding out who I was and I have to say the Paranormal has played a huge part in it. When I moved to Oklahoma I just about lived in the library's Science Fiction section. In the past few years though the Paranormal has really taken off in the mainstream with shows like Angel, Buffy, Supernatural, Trueblood, Torchwood, Supernatural, The Vampire Dairies, Witches of East End, Being Human, and countless movies.

I am loving it!

Some of my faves are the "reality shows" like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Oddities, Face Off, Fact or Faked and Destination Truth. I would give anything to be able to go on a "Ghost Hunt" or attend a comic convention even though I have never read a comic! It's nice to know that nerds and geeks fit in and are acceptable, awkward yet accepted.

I was the weirdo when I was little and the "freak" when I was a teen. But now I can openly share my love of all things weird and Paranormal.

Ta for now,
Kayla!
