Chickens and Goats!

Image
So I have a friend named Tonya who is awesome. She's smart, funny, creative, grows a garden and has the cutest farm! She makes bread, pies, quilts and knows how to cut/style hair and gives a killer pedicure. So yeah she's pretty freaking awesome and I simply adore her. A few weeks ago she posted to facebook that she and her husband were going to be adding some Nigerian goats to their Farm. Oh, my Goddess are these little goats adorable! They are still to young to be away from their mom so yesterday they invited us over to the "breeders" house to play with the Goats. I had more fun then anyone ought to being around adorable little goats. Besides their goats Tonya and her husband have chickens, cats and portly Dachshund and two rescued horses. My niece Erica says she's wants to be like Tonya when she grows up. So do I.

Kiamichi Rod Run 2014

Image
Okay so there is a thing about me that many people do not know. I love old, vintage cars. I think there is something beautiful about them and when they are restored it's like a piece of drive-able art. Now some would say I old like old cars because Sam and Dean drive a bad ass muscle car but oh contrair my friends. My Grandfather used to have this awesome old Jeep and we still have his 57 Chevy that my Uncle is restoring. My Dad used to have this sweet VW Van that I loved and one day I hope to own a vintage car. I would die to have an old Beetle or you know a 67 Chevy Impala lol Every Year the Kiamichi Street Rods host a Rod Run up in the State Park. All week long you will see them driving around town, then they park them and show them off in the Park. I have only been to this thing once since I've lived here but I have been to the Downtown thing our Main Street program used to host but for some reason did not do it this year. Anyway so Saturday morning me, my Mother, my Br

Seven Day Challenge: #1

Image
So I am an introvert.......but sometimes I have this over whelming urge to be daring or adventurous. Since it's in my nature to be overly cautions and over think everything I thought I should start small. I rarely try new things and find comfort in routine. I'm not to keen on change and I rarely step outside of my comfort zone. So my thought was to do one or two things I don't normally do and gradually move up to doing the big things that have always terrified me. For my first SDC I went with: Wake up at 6:30 am and, sleep in the center of my bed. Now these might seam like strange challenges but I am a procrastinator. I liked to stay up late and then wake up 30 minutes before I had to go to work or just sleep the day away. I was really depressed and felt like shit. It got to the point where something had to change or I was going to suffocate. I have a King size bed but since I got it only slept on the very edge. Why? I really don't know I just didn't think I cou

Yard Sale Haul!

Image
One of my favorite things about Spring/Summer is Yard Sales! I like having them and spending a morning going around town to all of the different ones. There is a town about 30 minutes away from here that has a city wide yard sale once a month in the summer. I'm going to have to take a day trip next time they have it. I'm not sure what they are called in other parts of the world or if they are even a thing but here in the US in the Spring time during "Spring Cleaning" all of the things that you no longer use/want you re-sale them on a weekend morning. You set up on your front lawn/yard, put up signs and wait for people to come by and buy your unwanted stuff! Some people call them a Rummage Sale or Garage Sale. Most cities require you to by a "Yard Sale" permit and in my town you are limited to hosting one sale every 6 weeks. It's a fun way to get out, meet your neighbors and buy some second hand stuff for cheap! On my most recent Yard Sailing trip I w

April Favorites 2014

Image
Did it seams like April just crawled by this year? I guess with all the Spring time weather and the pollen count making breathing slightly more difficult April lasted longer then I thought it should. So as the month comes to an end it's the time for Favorites! This candle by the Carriage Candle Company in the sent "Treasured Times" It smells so, so good. It has a slightly vanilla sent mixed with some deeper musky tones. I really enjoy burning it. I also love the little jars that they come in, I will for sure be cleaning them out and keeping them. I plan on hitting up my local boutique to by some more. Pink Lemonade These liquid lipsticks by e.l.f. I have "Bark" and "Pink Lemonade". They go on so smooth and stay on for quite some time. My local Wal-Mart just got a e.l.f. display and so I kinda stocked up! For only $1 why the heck not? NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils . I know every beauty guru goes on and one about these things but for good reaso

Blessed Beltane!

Image
It's May Day or Beltane! The time of year when it's exactly six months from Samhain, when the vale is once again thin and penetrable. It's the time of New Life, sowing what is to be reaped. Embracing the unions of Man and Woman, Man and Man or Woman and Woman. May is the month for New Beginnings, for everyone and everything. Flowers are blooming, trees are leafing out and the cold frozen land in coming alive once more. So dance like the Maiden and welcome the turning of the seasons! I made my flower crown out of cheep dollar store flowers. I wanted to make a roman esq head piece but it ended up looking more like the flowers that horse race winners ware. Anyway ware your flowers with pride my friends! Blessed Be, Kayla
