Spend Less September, Doodles and Autumn!

So as you may know I decided that for the month of September I would not buy useless things. Well it's only been a week and this is going to be so much harder then I thought it would be. It's like everywhere I look there are things that I want to buy; like the new Cosmo, these cute shoes that I found online and on sale. Plus about a thousand other things I see every time I go to town or online. Yard Sale abound this weekend too. Gah! Stop it with the sales already! So they say it take 20 days to learn/unlearn a habit. Here's hoping I make it to the end of the month!

I am a professional dog groomer by trade and I also do some boarding. This weekend we have a little Yorkie and a Golden Retriever, Poodle mix AKA a Goldendoodle staying with us. I am a Poodle person. I LOVE Poodles and you would think anything mixed with a Poodle would be at least half as awesome as the real thing right? Wrong. I have only met a few "Doodles" in my time and I have to say....I don't understand them. They are like Goldens/Labs but with weird Poodle like hair. What's the allure? The big guy that's staying with me whom I have groomed a few times is a very sweet dog.......a very slobbery dogs......a very loud dog......a very clumsy dog but a nice dog over all. Call me a snob but I prefer the real thing. No disrespect to the Doodle lovers out there I just don't understand y'all.


Autumn is right around the corner and I am SO EXCITED! As Stevie Nicks puts it "I ware my boots all Summer long." I am an Autumn/Winter kind of person. I love the colors, the cold, the smells, the dark nights, all of it. I get to ware my shawls and jackets, long pants and leggings. To sleep all snuggled up under the blankets. Three cheers for Autumn!

Hey Everyone! So as you may or may not know I am an avid animal lover but my personal faves are dogs. I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I wanted stuffed puppies before ever wanting a baby doll to play with and The Littlest Pet Shop was the shit. I was in 4-H for 5 years with dogs, even briefly trained dogs. Dog shows are my sporting events of choice. I rescued dogs for many years but purebreds will always have my heart. I started grooming dogs in 2004 when I was 18. November Favorites 2014

It's December ya'll! That means that Yule and Christmas are just right around the corner, before you know it it will be 2015! I did film a faves video. In fact I filmed it twice but both times I forgot a few things and the quality was not very good. So...... A good old fashion blog post it is! Lets begin with the first beauty product: NYC Sky rise Lengthening Mascara. It's kind of amazing and for just a couple of dollars you can't go wrong. It has a thin traditional brush that helps gets extra close to the lash line. I used it every time I applied makeup in November because it helped me reach those tiny curled lashes I have on my left eye. Also because of my astigmatism helped to not stab myself in the eyeball. Dogs.

Hey everyone! I am a self proclaimed Dog Snob. I love dogs and the sport of showing dogs. Anything involved with dogs, I love. Now I say Snob because I prefer purebreds. Mutts are great, I have several but my heart is pedigreed. This is also why I love being a pet groomer, getting to be hands on with so many different breeds and making them look as close as I can to their breed type is a thrill for me. I have always wanted to breed/show purebred dogs. Westminster is like the Super Bowl for me, I love reading about animal genetics, and raising puppies. But getting a breeder of quality dogs to give a virtual 'noobie' like me a puppy in the my chosen breed is nearly impossible. Now my breed of choice is the Poodle. Big or small I love them all but trying to find a healthy, well bred companion Toy Poodle is nearly impossible, almost as impossible as getting one from a show breeder.
