Hammer of The Gods

Hey everyone!

So, Monday evening (Memorial Day) a rather substantial storm came through our area and knocked our power out. No big deal, been there done that. But about five minutes after it went out our house was hit buy lightning. Like literally hit with a bolt of lightning. It scared the ever loving piss out of everyone in the house. It knocked things off of shelves, broke a light fixture, blew the cover off of a light switch, sparks came out of a plugin and there was fire coming from behind the oven. It caught the curtains in the kitchen aflame. We got the fires out with minimum damage but it sure was a scary ordeal.

Electricity.



You do not realize how much you depend on it until it's gone. Not just for lights to see but the AC, fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, hot water heater. Not to mention I work from home, so yeah, it's been rough.

But I have learned a few things.
  1.  My laptop battery lasts through a whole season of Teen Wolf.
  2. It is really, really dark with no ambient light.
  3. Tea lights last quite a bit longer then I realized, and 3 of them produce enough light for me to see in my room.
  4. We waste a LOT of electricity.
  5. The people who fix the power when it goes out need a raise.
  6. AC I can do with out; coffee not so much.
I am so thankful that we were home when it happened and that there was minimum damage. I guess I should do a few blessings for Thor every now and again. He's not kidding around with the bolts.

    Wow ......can certainly relate since we have been through our own little battle with the opps!. Thank God everyone is okay and the damage was minimal. Yep ...ya never realize what you have until you loose it. That goes for a lot of things in life.

      Absolutely Pat. I hope y'all can get everything back to good at your place. Mercury is in retrograde and it really kicked it up this time. I'm ready for it to go direct on the 11th and get things back to normal. Love ya!

November Favorites 2014

It's December ya'll! That means that Yule and Christmas are just right around the corner, before you know it it will be 2015! I did film a faves video. In fact I filmed it twice but both times I forgot a few things and the quality was not very good. So...... A good old fashion blog post it is! Lets begin with the first beauty product: NYC Sky rise Lengthening Mascara. It's kind of amazing and for just a couple of dollars you can't go wrong. It has a thin traditional brush that helps gets extra close to the lash line. I used it every time I applied makeup in November because it helped me reach those tiny curled lashes I have on my left eye. Also because of my astigmatism helped to not stab myself in the eyeball. Dogs.

Hey everyone! I am a self proclaimed Dog Snob. I love dogs and the sport of showing dogs. Anything involved with dogs, I love. Now I say Snob because I prefer purebreds. Mutts are great, I have several but my heart is pedigreed. This is also why I love being a pet groomer, getting to be hands on with so many different breeds and making them look as close as I can to their breed type is a thrill for me. I have always wanted to breed/show purebred dogs. Westminster is like the Super Bowl for me, I love reading about animal genetics, and raising puppies. But getting a breeder of quality dogs to give a virtual 'noobie' like me a puppy in the my chosen breed is nearly impossible. Now my breed of choice is the Poodle. Big or small I love them all but trying to find a healthy, well bred companion Toy Poodle is nearly impossible, almost as impossible as getting one from a show breeder.
